XΩ Mom’s Weekend 2010

This past weekend the members of the Rho Alpha chapter invited their mothers to come and visit for our annual Mom’s Weekend! Our social chair planned so many awesome activities that allowed everyone to have fun, catch up, and even make some new friends!

On Friday, after our moms either drove in from as close as Jefferson City or flew from as far as Vancouver, Washington, many girls opted to go out to dinner with their moms before meeting up with everyone at a local comedy club, Deja Vu.

Chi Os and their moms laughed all night at funny comedians, including some openers from the University of Missouri and a very funny dancing comedian. He even invited our social chair and her mom up onto the stage to perform a dance with him at the end of the show.

The next day began with a private pilates class at the recreation center taught by one of our members, Emily Milford. Girls had so much fun working out with their moms!

Saturday also happened to be Mizzou’s big rivalry basketball game against the Kansas Jayhawks. Chi Omega rented out the back room of a popular restaurant in Columbia and held a huge watch party to cheer on the Tigers!

That night, a local pottery studio called The Mud Room stayed open late just for Chi Omegas and their moms to stop in and create some fun pottery! Everyone loved sculpting and painting anything from owl bowls (Chi Omega’s symbol), to Mizzou plates, to Mom’s Weekend picture frames.

Mom’s Weekend came to an end the next morning with a brunch at the house, complete with some shopping! Chi Omega arranged for some vendors to bring in their wares and set up shop in the house. Girls and their moms were able to peruse designer jeans, Chi Omega Creations, and other stylish apparel after enjoying a delicious brunch in the kitchen.

We Rho Alpha girls will always love our moms, and it’s so great to be able to spend such a fantastic weekend with them. Thanks again to our social chair for planning all of the amazing activities!
