Initiation 2010!

The Rho Alpha chapter of Chi Omega was very proud to initiate 66 new members this past weekend! The new member class enjoyed nightly activities on the week leading up to initiation filled with bonding, friendship, sisterhood, and memories. Each girl is now an official Chi Omega!

The girls took the opportunity to dress up in “pin attire” each night and couldn’t help taking pictures in their cute outfits!

A group of girls in the new member class decided to go out to dinner together after initiation Saturday night to celebrate!

Sunday morning, many girls’ parents surprised them at the house for a post-initiation celebration brunch!

One new initiate was able to celebrate with three generations of Chi Omegas in her family!

The girls and their families attended a delicious brunch at the Mizzou Alumni Center.

This is a very special experience for all Chi Os- one we will never forget! The Rho Alpha chapter would like to say a special congratulations to Paige Flores, who was voted Model Initiate by the chapter, and Becky Bien, who was voted Model Initiate by her pledge class. These girls exemplified the ideals of a true Chi Omega. We are so proud of all of our new initiates- welcome to the family!

On Friday, a karaoke event was held at Lakeside Cantina. On Saturday, fathers and their daughters attended the Mizzou vs. Baylor football game at Faurot Field. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed spending time together.

Rho Alpha Alumnae Reunion

Anne Pokoski (79) hosted a reunion at her home in St. Louis for Rho Alphas that graduated in the years around her graduation in honor of her approaching 50th birthday. About 35 alumnae attended- Anne had a blast reconnecting with all the fabulous women, many of whom she had not seen in almost 30 years!

This is a perfect example of Chi Omega sisterhood lasting a lifetime. As a member still in my college years, I look forward to many happy memories and reunions to come!

Homecoming 2009- We’re The Sheep!

Congratulations to the women of Chi Omega and the men of Phi Kappa Theta for placing 3rd out of 14 pairings during Homecoming 2009! We accomplished amazing things this year including donated thousands of pints of blood at the country’s largest blood drive and collecting food for the Mid Missouri Food Bank.

This year, each Greek pairing was given a nursery rhyme to incorporate into its skit, float and house decoration. Our theme was “Little Bo Peep”.

Individual category breakdown results:

Royalty: 1st Place

Service: 1st Place

Spirit: 3rd Place

Float: 3rd Place

Talent: 4th Place

Overall: 3rd Place

We enjoyed spending time and getting to know the men of Phi Kappa Theta. It was a homecoming for everyone to remember. We are so proud of all we accomplished and our hard work… it really paid off!

GAMMA 2009

This semester, Chi Omega participated in GAMMA (Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol). GAMMA consisted of a numerous speakers, service events, and GAMMAJam, a dance competition. Many sisters came out to GAMMAJam Prelims at Missouri Theatre to support the dancers as they performed to “Walk this Way” by Aerosmith. Freshman Paige Flores performed an original song between acts at Prelims. Both acts made it to GammaJam Finals in Greektown that Friday.

Congratulations to Chi Omega for placing 3rd overall in GAMMA 2009!
